We utilized PFL's Direct Mail Platform to facilitate drip direct mail campaigns to over 7,000 contacts linked through Salesforce Sales Cloud. This system was fully automated through interlocking triggers to send mail based on stages, dates, and status of the account in Salesforce.
  • Reporting on finished jobs.
  • Support in onboarding and set up.
  • Support setting up complex or unusual direct mail strategies.
  • There is no built-in functionality to automate direct mail; this has to be created through triggers in Salesforce.
  • The sales cloud integration didn't give us the syncing or reporting we thought would be available.
  • We would like to see more support from team members in the post-onboarding process.
PFL is well suited to a company that is doing a lot of batch, personalized direct mail. All the mail happens at the same time, and all the information is easily accessible within the CRM, which would be an ideal scenario. It is not as suited to a company hoping to achieve full automation.

We use PFL to automate our direct mail strategy. Before PFL, we spent a lot of man-hours managing lists and communicating with vendors. PFL helped us streamline things so that we our direct mail was triggered by Salesforce actions and used Salesforce data for dynamic content. I think it saved us a lot of time.

  • Not a lot of visibility into usage of pre-purchased credits.
I think if you're well-versed in Salesforce and can navigate the complexity of Pfl's software integration, you're in a good place to use it. Once you get things going it's pretty seamless, but the setup takes time.

We use PFL to send swag to conference attendees and VIP customers of our platform. Individual account managers can request that their customers be sent items and kits at any time, provided they requisition the appropriate budget first. The gifts are intended to thank customers for their participation in events after the close of a sale, or to incentivize an executive meeting.

  • As a Canadian employee of a US-based company, provisioning my personal access to PFL was painful. Neither my Salesforce admins nor the PFL team seemed to be able to align the correct settings.
PFL is a great tool for marketing teams who are looking to empower front-line sales execs with access to the collateral they can use to supplement the sales cycle, whether: softening up a customer prior to an in-person meeting, "Hey, did you get that swag pack I sent you?" thanking a customer for their participation in an event; "Just wanted to say thanks for attending the webinar last week." showing VIP customers some love and appreciation; "Happy holidays, so glad we took the time to deepen the partnership this year!"

We use PFL to send customized packages, swag, and brochures to our customers. We have been using this platform for 3 years and have run into many problems. There is no way to see inventory on a product on the UI and you have to email them every time you want to make an order. The UI is very old and leads to lots of problems and you have to physically enter addresses of customers and pick sizes and the gift. Other competitors like Postal actually enable you to set a price range on a gift and give a link to customers to add their address. You can also laser in the customers logo alongside yours on demand on things like yetis and bottles etc. PFL is far behind the industry standard and their customer service is very slow.

Working with PFL has been a total headache for us as a company. Emailing to find out inventory every time someone on our team wants to order is time consuming. The customization factor is not there and they don’t enable you to send a link for customers to pick their gift and enter their own address.

I use PFL to send our customers mailer kits in order to start conversations or thank them for their time/business. Its a great way to reach out without the usual email/phone call, as its something new and different. Most customers like receiving something customized in the mail making them feel valued and unique. I love the ability to link this product with other tools such as Marketo and Salesforce. It makes data and results analysis and tracking super easy! Love the products we can include in the mailers from Yeti mugs to custom blankets. The PFL team is super helpful in creating the packaging design and kits and starting this process off for new PFL customers. Would recommend!

I like to use PFL when reaching out to a customer in order to engage them or start a conversation. Its a great place to start as most people love receiving a mailer kit vs an email or phone call. We have seen a significant increase in opportunity size and a decrease in days to close an opportunity when direct mail is part of the marketing solution. PFL Direct Mail Platform integrates right with our CRM making it a a streamlined process for our sales team. They make it quick and easy for everyone to use. On top of that the account team works to provide unique direct mail options at all different price points.

PFL Direct Mail Platform is the only solution we recommend with our customers here at Salesforce. There are thousands of Marketing Cloud customers. Any that have a requirement to automate the delivery of print mail messages to businesses or homes will want to use PFL Direct Mail Platform. They are pre-integrated to Journey Builder and simplify the mapping of contact details directly into a print mail messages. We routinely show customers how this works, the ease of use and how it will it will simplify their marketing experience to send print mail messages home in a scalable, automated fashion.

Well Suited: Customers that want to sent print mail to homes. For example: retailers often have a mixture of digital marketing and traditional and will want to send periodic messages home. But, print mail is expensive channel and they often only send it to qualified customers after they are engaging. So PFL Direct Mail Platform is great because it embeds directly into Marketing workflows and helps target who and when customers receive print mail. Banks or Healthcare companies may also want to trigger print mail home in Service scenarios, are as part of promotional efforts. This can also be automated with PFL Direct Mail Platform. PFL Direct Mail Platform is a less appropriate for customers who are shifting away from the print channel. We have some customers that are reducing spend in this area, and, as a result we may not recommend it.

We use PFL Direct Mail Platform within Marketing Cloud to send out marketing material to consumers when they request it. This can include commercial and operational sends. Several times a year we update our materials and work with PFL Direct Mail Platform to verify our new Marketing Cloud builds. Our marketing materials can change and be updated within a small span of time during our busiest time of the year, and it's very straightforward when we need to go update everything in our MC journeys to accommodate this. We don't need to rebuild everything from scratch each time.

Our marketing department uses PFL for our direct mail programs. Before PFL, we dabbled with including direct mail in our campaigns, but it was a very manual, disjointed process, and we had zero visibility into the results of the campaigns. With PFL, the process is totally streamlined, from campaign conception to creating the physical kit to mailing, tracking, and, most importantly, integrating with Salesforce, allowing us to capture the results of our direct mail programs via campaigns.

We use PFL Hybrid Experience Platform across multiple different parts of the organization– Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, etc. We use the PFL Hybrid Experience Platform to incentivize meetings, create net new interest in Checkr, and even thank our existing customers. While PFL addresses some problems, in my experience the platform itself creates a number of additional problems, such as slowing down deadlines, tedious campaign setup, and a disjointed/disorganized communication back and forth (this could be streamlined with an intake form, a template, or even a library of templates to choose from when beginning a project.

  • Good communication from all teams (finance, CS, and design)
  • Easy to use SFDC integration (more so on the sales side of the house)
  • Campaign set up, more support in rule creation
  • I would love to see a project intake form or even a library of templates to choose from when beginning a project. So it is clear exactly what is needed from us, prior to starting a project.
  • More QA on the PFL side of the house throughout the campaign setup. We had an instance where one campaign continued to break, and while one of our marketers was at an event, it was being fixed. I am sure both teams (Checkr and PFL) have room for improvement here.
  • Invoicing and bucketing of funds
PFL Hybrid Experience Platform has been suited for almost all of the scenarios we use it for. Unfortunately, we have seen that other vendors meet our expectations more when it comes to things like a campaign setup, the rule setup, timelines, templates, curation teams, etc.

My company used PFL Hybrid Experience Platform as a main component in out client and employee swag distribution. We send our swag items to them in bulk for our sales team to send to clients in a quick and efficient way. We are also able to send the items to our offices for employee use. My company also uses PFL for our holiday swag items and they help provide new items for us to order while also using our suggestions.

From helping webinar registrants get excited for their up-coming session with Popcorn and Coffee, to meeting-setters in a "do this, get this" scenario, to congratulating CIO's for having won a prestigious award in their region. We've found incredible value in the partnership with Hybrid Experience Platform. Not only do they consult with us and help us reach our demand gen and appointment setting goals, but they proactively bring new ideas to the table and work directly with our Marketo experts to ensure the API is working properly. If you're finding it harder to connect with prospects and existing customers via the "same old channels", definitely look at PFL to help. Merging the digital experience with the physical can be a massive game changer.

We use PFL [Tactile Marketing Automation] as a lead generation tool for our sales team. We work closely with sales to identify key targets, and then we deliver mailers via FedEx to open the door for our sales team when it comes to building up interest and pipeline. It's used jointly by sales and marketing to power the campaigns.

  • Before we agreed to the integration with Marketo, there were a lot of issues triggering orders successfully that required direct intervention from their team.
If you're working for an organization that wants to do direct mail as a tactic, [PFL Tactile Marketing Automation is] an acceptable basic solution. They can scope out mailers, price them, and help with fulfillment. But the end results of those mailers and the eye for quality has been questionable on occasion from my experience.

At Marketo, we used the TMA solution in coordination with SwagIQ. We built an ABM campaign around direct mail with massive success.
